For Sale

When I began collecting art, my wife was very supportive. But she did have one ironclad rule: “You are not allowed to become a hoarder.” In practice, that means that in order to bring new art in, I must periodically send old art out.

This page lists the artwork I have for sale. If you have any questions about any of the pieces, please don’t hesitate to contact me; otherwise, click on the link to inquire or purchase.

A “pochoir” is a fine art stenciling technique that was popular in France during the mid-20th century. These two prints were published by Daniel Jacomet after paintings by Georges Rouault, as part of the 1969 “Visages” portfolio (which contains nine prints total).

Numbered in pencil out of an edition of 450 but otherwise unsigned, both prints come framed.

Earl Newman, “River Rhythms”

Artist: Earl Newman

This beautiful serigraph by the “Earl of Posters”, Earl Newman, was created for the 1998 “River Rhythms” music festival in Albany, Oregon. Newman is most famous for creating the posters for the Monterey Jazz Festival, a complete set of which are contained in the collection of the Smithsonian. He also created several influential posters for SNCC in the midst of the civil rights movement.

Signed and numbered (23 out of an edition of 50, plus 5 artist proofs), and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed and dated by the artist.

Tom Cramer, untitled paintings

Artist: Tom Cramer
Titles: [Unknown]
Year: 2017-19
Medium: Oil
Dimensions: ~21″ h x 18″ w (including frames)
SOLD

Sometimes called the “unofficial Artist Laureate of Portland,” these untitled paintings show off Cramer’s unapologetically vivid colors and strong lines. While I had them listed separately, I was delighted to sell them to a collector as a set, since I think they pair beautifully together.

Sherrie Wolf, “Cookie Tin”

Artist: Sherrie Wolf
Title: Cookie Tin
Year: 1996
Medium: Color Etching and Aquatint (168/200)
Dimensions: 21.5″ h x 21″.5 w (in frame); 11″ x 11 7/8″ (visible art)
SOLD

Another beloved Portland favorite, Sherrie Wolf is well-known for her photorealistic paintings but is an accomplished printmaker as well. She was honored in 2022 with a 148-page retrospective monograph on her work published by the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation.

“Cookie Tin,” a limited edition print published in an edition of 200, is also found in the collection of the Portland Art Museum. I did not select the matting.
